Before i started practicing pilates, i used to say half jokingly that staying in shape was 50% discipline and 50% vanity, now i realize that what i hadn't factored in was a sizable proportion of science. Having that science explained and demonstrated by a practitioner as precise and cogent as lara hassan allowed me to progress beyond just 'staying in shape', and to a clearer understanding of how my body actually works, and that's no joke.
Lara is committed to the discipline set out by joseph pilates and she is a highly trained and skilled pilates instructor. Before i began working with lara i had chronic back pain and was untoned and out of shape. Lara quickly worked to eliminate back issues through core strengthening and re shape and tone my body through a variety of mat, machine and reformer exercises. Her sessions are varied and focused on results. Many claim to teach pilates but few have the knowledge, equipment and dedication of the staff at spiral pilates.
I have always considered myself to be very athletic; playing competitive tennis, cycling and practicing yoga. Yet, up until I began training with Lara Hassan, I had limited knowledge of how my body actually works and had formed numerous bad habits which often led to injury. I began to train with Lara nearly three years ago and she has not only transformed my body but she has also transformed my understanding of how the body works. Lara's attention to detail and deep understanding of the body has enabled her to tailor an exercise programing that is just right for my body and it has been truly transformative. Thank you Lara!

Spiral Body is the only pilates studio that I have attended that offers ever-varied classes of the very highest consistent standard, with classically trained, hugely experienced and effective pilates instructors. I am thrilled with the results!

I first of all went to Spiral as a consequence of a bad back, an inability to do a forward-roll and a wife not willing to put up with my moaning every time I got out of a chair. I have stayed with Spiral because I really like the combination of a physical work-out with precise teaching, the dedication and knowledge of the teachers and the fact that it is actually fun to try and live a life without creaking.
